The Bhasmey Hydroelecrtic Power Project is located in the Kamery Bhasmey block in the East District of Sikkim on the Rangpo river about 6km upstream of Rangpo Bazar.The Rangpo river is a major tributary of the Teesta river which is the main river of the state of Sikkim.The Bhasmey Hydroelecrtic Power Project is based on the Run-of-the-River Hydroelectric Power plant with the installed capacity of 51MW.The Bhasmey has one intake of storage reservoir and headrace tunnel joining to headrace tunnel,an underground surge shaft,a surface penstock,an open air powerhouse with two units and an outdoor switchyard. |
